After the Romanic period, art changes a lot.
Architecture and painting evolve into more complex ones.
ART IN THE CHRISTIAN KINGDOMS
When the Christian kingdoms conquered the Iberian Peninsula the artistic expressions changed completely.
They started representing human figures and the topic used to be related to wars, knights and the Christian religion.
MY RULER, MY TREASURE!
For 800 years the Iberian Peninsula was part of the Islamic Empire.
Arabs were excellent at many areas of knowledge. Some of them were Arts and Mathematics and Geometry.
Look at the incredible mosaics they created during the Middle Ages at their palaces, such us The Alhambra Palace in Granada. Many artists fell in love with its geometry, like M.C. Escher.
